Born from the demands of specification-grade lighting, Speqtr gives agency ownership a private product and portfolio platform shaped around your own manufacturers, priorities and strategy for growth. Search, cross and learn the line card you already carry – and guide which manufacturers and products are considered before quoting begins.
Efficiency and competitive advantage are not the same thing.
Independent rep agencies have spent decades building their businesses on relationships, market knowledge and the value they bring to their manufacturers. That value is what sets one agency apart from the next.
Much of the technology now reaching the industry is built to serve every agency the same way: shared platforms, standardized experiences and, in some cases, usage-based pricing that rises with the very sales activity agencies are working to grow. When every agency works from the same tools, technology makes agencies more interchangeable, not more valuable.
Speqtr was built the other way around: your technology should strengthen what makes your agency different, not make it look and operate like everyone else.
Your agency directs its own environment: the manufacturers it features, the priorities that shape discovery, and where deeper development is worth the investment.
How your priorities shape discoverySpeqtr isn’t another quoting tool. It works upstream of the quote, influencing which manufacturers and products are considered in the first place. And its cost doesn’t rise with the quotes or orders your team produces.
See the business caseSpeqtr partners with one agency per agreed geographic sales territory, and each platform is developed around that agency’s own manufacturers and strategy. What you build becomes an advantage your direct competitors can’t replicate by subscribing to the same platform.
What your agency getsThe objective isn’t simply to help your team work faster. It’s to help your agency capture more revenue, demonstrate greater value to existing and prospective manufacturers, and build competitive advantages other agencies can’t simply subscribe to.
Discuss your agency’s advantageOn a lighting line card that can run past a hundred manufacturers, the familiar one is often the first considered. Useful product knowledge sits with a few experienced people, while less familiar lines can be overlooked. That can leave suitable products out of a proposal, complementary categories unexplored, and staff repeating the same catalogue research. Speqtr puts more of that knowledge within reach of the whole team.
In practice: A rep or specifier can describe a project requirement, a product type, or a specific technical attribute. Speqtr searches the product families developed for technical discovery, while every represented line remains accessible through its manufacturer hub. But what gets prioritized isn’t left to chance. Among technically suitable results, leadership’s sales strategy influences how Speqtr ranks and recommends products, directing more consideration toward strategic manufacturers and higher-value lines. The result is greater control over where business flows, stronger sales across underutilized manufacturers, and more revenue captured from the portfolio the agency already represents.
We build a private product and portfolio environment around the manufacturers your agency represents. Every line receives a dedicated home, while deeper product intelligence is developed where it creates the most commercial value.
Your leadership chooses which manufacturers—and even which individual product families—receive Guided Finder, Deep Data or configuration work. The result is a resource for reps, inside sales and quotations that is shaped by your agency’s priorities.
One agency per agreed geographic sales territory. Speqtr is never available to a competing agency in that territory.
Your manufacturers, identity and priorities shape a platform that is private to your agency, with a visual line card as the team’s front door to the portfolio.
An agreed initial deployment, bounded ongoing catalog maintenance and a defined development program to deepen additional products as your priorities evolve.
Four levels of product discovery and selection capability, each answering a question your team asks every day. Every manufacturer begins with a Home Hub; your agency chooses which lines—and which products within them—merit deeper development.
Where do I find it?
A consistent starting point for every represented manufacturer, bringing together available product information, resources, selling materials and links. Reps can find unfamiliar lines more easily, even before specific product families receive deeper technical development.
What should I recommend?
From a customer’s general requirement, the team can discover source-supported products across the families developed for Guided Finder. Relevant products from less familiar lines can enter consideration, while technical coverage expands as the agency develops its portfolio.
Does it truly meet the spec?
Technical precision on attributes like aperture, tilt, colour temperature and CRI qualifies complex products and rules out unsuitable ones early. Less time chasing the wrong product, and faster, more confident answers for the customer.
How do I order it correctly?
Validated selection logic turns lumen package, optics, finish and mounting options into a complete order code. Less interpretation of confusing spec sheets and ordering guides, fewer errors, and complex products that are easier to select and sell.
Find it. Recommend it. Qualify it. Order it.
Every manufacturer receives a Home Hub. Leadership then chooses the specific lines and product families worth developing further, investing in the level of technical support their commercial opportunity justifies.
Behind every ranking is a decision leadership makes for each line: how much attention and exposure it receives, and why. The reason is recorded with the decision, and it can change whenever your priorities do.
Technical suitability comes first. Placement orders and emphasizes products that already qualify for the requirement. It never makes an unsuitable product eligible, and it never hides a suitable one from a team member or specifier who specifically looks for it. Placement is visible to management, not to customers.
Demand shaping works down at the product level. Products are weighed against the requirement in front of the team and the priorities your agency has set, so a line’s strategy can be dialled in to the applications where it genuinely wins rather than applied as a blanket preference.
Scores, rankings and placement let leadership set those priorities once and have them carried out consistently, without depending on every rep to remember, interpret and act on each initiative. A strategic decision becomes everyday sales action.
It also answers the question every manufacturer eventually asks: how will you make sure our line gets the attention it deserves? Rather than promising support, your agency can show exactly how it directs it.
Search across developed product families from a requirement such as a 4-inch adjustable downlight, a wet-location wall pack or a 3000K linear pendant. Refine by supported attributes and see the manufacturer, series and source evidence behind each result. Technical matching depends on the validated data available for each product.
Start from a known product or requirement and explore represented alternatives within developed product families, with supported attributes and documents to compare.
Newer reps and inside sales learn products in the context of real project needs, shortening the path to a useful product conversation.
Explore complementary represented categories and surface qualified products where data supports them, including lines outside the team’s usual starting points.
Instead of a static page of logos, your line card becomes an interactive tool built for everyday selling. Each manufacturer has its own hub bringing together available product information, specification sheets, selling resources and a direct link to the manufacturer’s site. As your agency develops priority products, deeper search and recommendations extend that foundation.
No more going website to website to find your own represented products. New reps get up to speed faster, and product training becomes part of the sales day rather than a separate event.
A practical way to promote priority manufacturers and highlight products and launches, right where the team already works.
Proof that the agency has built their products into its daily selling, rather than representing them with a logo on a line card.
The planned agency-branded specifier portal will extend qualified search and crossing to lighting designers, architects and engineers. With access shaped by your agency’s priorities and available validated product data, specifiers could explore represented solutions, compare alternatives and access documents in one place.
Every manufacturer, current or prospective, is asking the same question: what will this agency actually do for my line? Speqtr turns the answer from a promise into a plan you can show.
When a manufacturer asks for more attention, your agency has the tools to deliver it: more exposure, stronger team knowledge, deeper technical support and configuration for the products that need it, organized into a development plan you can walk them through.
When competing for a new manufacturer, show how the line could be developed: a dedicated hub, deeper discovery for selected product families, deliberate exposure where technically suitable, and growing selling support as the relationship develops. With territorial exclusivity, no competing agency in your territory can make that case with Speqtr.
For a manufacturer, it’s the difference between being listed on a line card and being actively represented.
The commercial case is additional commission income, protection for key lines, stronger manufacturer retention and more productive people. Efficiency is part of the return. The lasting value is a capability that belongs to your agency.
Capture more of each project by finding suitable products, alternatives and complementary categories across the line card, while keeping key revenue lines visible when they fit.
Key manufacturers carry key revenue. Keeping them, and winning new lines, is the most direct protection the agency’s commission income has.
Product context and crossing in the daily workflow give newer team members a stronger start, and give experienced staff their time back for selling.
Speqtr does not replace your CRM, quoting or order systems. It works upstream of them, shaping which manufacturers and products are considered before a quote is written. Keep the downstream workflows that already work for your agency.
Manage relationships, opportunities, quotes and orders.
Discovery, crossing, training and manufacturer development that shape demand before the quote.
We begin with your confirmed line card and commercial priorities. Every represented manufacturer receives a Home Hub. We then focus initial deeper development on a priority group—typically around 20% of your line card—and the specific product families within those lines that matter most. Scope, depth and acceptance criteria are agreed before work begins.
After launch, bounded Catalog Care maintains the agreed environment, while a defined ongoing development program can expand product depth as priorities change.
Designed for minimal lift from your team. Speqtr carries the preparation and development work. Your agency directs and approves at agreed review points, so your people stay focused on running the agency.
Discuss your line card and prioritiesManufacturer hubs across the agreed line card, a configured agency environment, and source-validated discovery for the priority product families included in the initial scope.
Direction and approval: your priorities, your confirmed portfolio, and focused feedback against real selling needs.
Speqtr was founded after more than a decade working in the specification-grade lighting industry and recognizing a significant gap in the technology available to independent manufacturers’ representative agencies.
With over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, including more than 12 years on the manufacturer side of the lighting industry, Speqtr’s founder saw firsthand how agencies managed increasingly complex product portfolios, yet lacked the tools to fully leverage them.
Despite significant advances in technology, there remained a disconnect between the value of an agency’s line card and its ability to effectively activate that portfolio, guide product selection, influence sales priorities, and maximize opportunities across the manufacturers it represents.
Speqtr was created to close that gap.
Firsthand manufacturer-side experience and conversations with agency leaders help keep development focused on real portfolio priorities, manufacturer relationships and the everyday needs of sales teams.
A stronger agency: one that develops demand, protects key-line revenue and becomes integral to how its manufacturers reach the market.
We believe the future of independent representation shouldn’t be about making every agency operate the same way. It should be about giving each agency more power to differentiate itself.
